Deaf Jim Records is proud to announce the newest release on their roster, Downbeat at Eight, by The Martindales. Downbeat at Eight fuses rock, blues, and country into a thirteen-song master’s thesis on American music.

However, the CD is only half the story. While the Martindales are accomplished recording artists, they are first and foremost an astonishing live act with broad crossover appeal. These guys need to be seen to be believed; they’re buttoned down and cleaned up on the outside, but when they begin to play, you know they mean business. And they are good. Ted makes guitar heroics seem effortless, tossing off amazing riffs while maintaining a stoic demeanor. He’s the perfect foil to former high school classmate, Kevin, who fronts the band with husky vocals, wry humor and a lanky bearing. Jake and Don merge into the definitive rhythm section, demonstrating stunning musicianship while keeping the whole affair solidly grounded.
