A nostalgic interpretation of an intriguing collection of tunes previously recorded by vocalist June Christy in the 1950’s and 60’s.

Linda’s expressive voice and the fresh arrangements played by an impressive line-up of top notch musicians make Remembering June a must have CD for any jazz lover’s collection. With the intention of creating a live sound, the vocals, horn and rhythm sections were all recorded simultaneously, giving way to the artistic chemistry that can be heard in each song between Linda and the band, as they subtly respond to each other. Pairing vibes and horns, strings and percussion, each song’s instrumentation was carefully considered in setting the mood for the moment. Beautiful and clever arranging by Mike Horsfall (Tall Jazz) makes this an interesting listen from start to finish. A broad range of emotions are reflected in this project, including songs where one can hear the smile in Daiber’s voice, the vulnerability of a love lost, and the hope of brighter days. Remembering June touches on all of life’s peaks and valleys, and takes the listener right along on the journey.
