When recording artists Ben Rice & Lucy Hammond found themselves double booked at the same gig, neither could have predicted the results!

To the pleasure of the packed house, they decided on the spot to do it together! With a level of musical and performance compatibility that usually takes years to develop, they gave an impromptu show fans still talk about. So this extraordinary collaboration began!
As their schedules allowed and when not involved in their other projects, Ben & Lucy started working together as a duo and full band.

Following the successful “Double Strength” tour, (May 2014), their latest collaboration,”Destination Clarksdale” delivers stripped down vocals and guitar. Clearly evidencing their influences of American Roots, Blues, Gospel, Country, Soul, and Rockabilly loud & clear! From Ben’s playfully frivolous “Ida Mae”, to his lament of watching helplessly those you can’t save from themselves on “Oh Lord”, to the rebellion/redemption theme of “Wants Me Back Again, to the idealism of “Turn My Back On You”, to the tradition of the field holler/spiritual in Lucy Hammond’s “Muddy Water”, these songs deliver strong lyrical, and musical depth. The texture of Lucy and Ben’s voices, Ben’s incredible guitar, and powerful songs produce something you’ll listen to again and again.
